The World Letter
1. Purpose and object
The present terms and conditions govern the use of the Site and associated services by any internet user (“you” or the “User”).
Their purpose is to set out the terms and conditions under which the User discloses his/her letter to the world (including texts, images, photographs, etc.; altogether, the “Content”) via the Site and assigns his/her intellectual property rights to The World Letter.
2. Posting Content
Please do not post Content on this Site that you did not write. You are responsible to only post things that you have written. If you decide to use someone else’s work in your own, make sure that you have permission to post it on the Site and credit it appropriately.
If you want to keep something private, please do not send it to us for publication. Everything that you send to us, we can publish or send to other people.
If you choose to provide your own Content to this Site, you consent to allowing The World Letter to edit that Content for clarity purposes. If you submit something with grammar or spelling problems, we reserve the right to edit those things for you. 3. Intellectual property rights
By posting the Content on the Site, you hereby irrevocably assign to The World Letter, on an exclusive basis, for the maximum duration provided for the protection of the intellectual property rights concerned, for the entire world, all rights, title and interest in and to any Content. Such assignment includes the rights of reproduction, representation, adaptation, translation in any language, exploitation and user rights of any Content, in any existing or future format and on any media whatsoever (including digital media). Such assignment is made for any purpose (destination), notably for promotional, advertising, journalistic, marketing, commercial and information purposes, within the framework of The World Letter’s current and future activities. The World Letter may thus freely exploit the Content.
You hereby declare that you hold all intellectual property rights in and to the Content and that you are thus entitled to assign them to The World Letter. Therefore, you warrant that you shall, at your cost and expense, indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The World Letter and its representatives, on demand from and against any claim, action, loss, injury, liability, damage, judgment, notice of violation or non-compliance, cost, and expense (including, without limitation, attorneys' fees), and cost of settlement caused by infringement by any Content of third-party rights (including intellectual property rights).
The present intellectual property rights assignment is made free of charge. You hereby declare that you are fully aware of that and that you shall refrain from soliciting or claiming a lump-sum or proportional share of the profits resulting from any exploitation of the Content.
4. Applicable law
The present terms and conditions shall be governed by French law.
